March 31 saw the grand opening of the highly anticipated 2026 China Green Economy Annual Conference in Beijing. As the flagship year-opening event themed on green economy under the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the conference gathered over 300 elites from government bodies, industries, academic institutions and research institutes. Centering on green and low-carbon development, it officially unveiled five major strategic topics and ten cutting-edge priority special projects. Boasting leading technologies and sound industrial layout in the field of AEM water electrolysis for hydrogen production, Beijing Future Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. successfully signed contracts for key special projects of the Green Hydrogen AEM Industrial Ecosystem Alliance, emerging as a core player driving the innovation of China’s green hydrogen industry.

Aligned with the guidelines of the 15th Five-Year Plan and the State Council Government Work Report, this year’s conference set five core strategic topics: AI + Energy, solid waste treatment, energy conservation and carbon reduction, zero-carbon parks and green investment, offering in-depth interpretations of new development models for the green economy. To advance industrial implementation, the International Green Economy Association took the lead in launching ten cutting-edge special projects covering key sectors such as hydrogen energy and carbon capture. The initiative aims to pool top-tier resources and build a new world-leading ecosystem for green economy.

The launch of key projects under the Green Hydrogen AEM Industrial Ecosystem Alliance stood out as one of the conference’s major highlights. As a next-generation core technology, Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) water electrolysis features low costs and superior performance, and is widely recognized as a viable solution to break the bottlenecks of traditional green hydrogen production and realize large-scale commercialization. This special project will bring together partners across the entire industrial chain, including material research and development, equipment manufacturing, system integration and scenario application. Participants will jointly tackle critical challenges including the localization of core materials, improvement of system efficiency and cost reduction in engineering practices, so as to foster an independent, controllable, collaborative and efficient industrial ecosystem for AEM-based green hydrogen.

Beijing Future Hydrogen has long dedicated itself to the AEM water electrolysis sector. Prioritizing independent innovation, the company has assembled a top expert team and established cooperation with a host of research institutions. It now holds more than 40 patents and has participated in formulating over 20 industrial standards. The enterprise has independently developed a series of products with proprietary intellectual property rights, namely AEMCat.HER® Cathode Catalyst, AEM HER GDE® Cathode Electrode and AEM OER GDE® Anode Electrode, achieving a pivotal leap from laboratory research to large-scale industrialization. The latest partnership fully testifies to the industry’s recognition of the company’s technological prowess and growth potential, and also creates new momentum for its accelerated technological iteration and market expansion.

Going forward, the company will fully integrate into the alliance ecosystem and join hands with leading industrial players and research institutions. It will strive to drive a substantial drop in green hydrogen production costs and expand pilot applications of green hydrogen in diverse scenarios including industry, transportation and energy storage. Driven by continuous AEM technological innovation, Future Hydrogen will work with all ecosystem partners to explore the trillion-yuan market of green hydrogen. The company is committed to contributing solid strength to the delivery of China’s Dual Carbon Goals and the in-depth transformation of the national energy structure.
